IDIOMS


It is a word or statement by which a thing is said or idea that gracefully  is expressed.  "This" or "the phrase" is a set of words that are given to express something that does not match the literal sense of them. The sayings (also called "sayings") express a concept similar to the idiom, sometimes difficult to distinguish between these expressions. In the Spanish language, there are a collection of those that enrich the language and it  has been appraising throughout the centuries reaching at present no less than 1500 words or idioms

An idiom  is a phrase or a fixed expression that has a figurative, or sometimes literal, meaning. An idiom's figurative meaning is different from the literal meaning. There are thousands of idioms, and they occur frequently in all languages. It is estimated that there are at least twenty five thousand idiomatic expressions in the English language.

Examples:
* A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
This expression means you better have something that nothing, it is better to have something safe than anything something. " A bird in the hand ". It is something that one has for sure, so it is better to have a bird that none. In essence, it is good that we are not greedy and to stay with the good we have done, instead of going after something that will probably never come.

* All that glitters is not gold.

It means that not everything seem so good in fact, in other words, those things that we think are wonderful in many cases it is not so and inside involve some evil, deception or flaw.

*Blood is thicker than water.

When we say that blood is thicker than water, we claim the importance of family, able to help although there have been disagreements in the past, but mostly able to get ahead of friends or acquaintances.

*Bottoms up.

Content drinking one drink. It is used especially when it comes to alcohol. Literally to tilt the bottom of the glass of one up until empty.

* A chip off the old block.Means you are exactly like your parents or older sibling or guardian.
